Sunset Frensham Big Pond, watercolour 12x8"

All is well with the world in this beauty Malcolm Terrific

I find sunsets really difficult to achieve but you've had no trouble Malcolm.

Thank you so much for those lovely comments Fiona and Dennis.

Beautiful tranquil mood , very well done

Thanks for that Dermot, it was a really peaceful evening and as we all know, feelings come through in our work (hopefully) :)))

It must have been wonderful sitting there in front of this stunning scene. I love the detailed interest in the darkened foreground which gives way to the super glowing light of the sunset. Time well spent painting plein air I think!

This painting is lovely Malcolm, I love sunsets, so calming and relaxing :)

Thanks Maria and Thea and yes Thea it is a nice place to be and to walk round especially towards the end of the day, unfortunately it's the other end of the country from me , I only get there when I visit a friend.

Hang on Studio Wall

This was done virtually all En plein air sat above the big pond at Frensham in Surrey, it was an incredibal evening and I was lucky enough to get some photos and colour sketches done as well as the majority of the painting. It was one of those times when you could believe all was well with the world. There was a slight mist appearing on the far shore among the reeds. This was the area they used to film the attack on the lakeside womens village in Snowwhite and the Huntsman and I was lucky enough to be there at the time and see the machines making the mist on the water and the structures they had built, the only downside was it did have an impact on people being able to walk in certain areas.
