Lovely sketch and original concept Malcolm

Thanks for that Dennis, I must admit the photo I took at the time really shows the age of the wood.

It's great to see you capture a scene most would bypass , nice work Malcom

Thanks for that Dermot, I do tend to look for different things plus I really do like old wood and obviously rock given my love of mountains.

Very characterful remains of the tree Malcolm, I like your unusual choice of subjects and the rocks here are excellent!

Thank you for that Fiona, in the past people who have seen some of my work don't understand why I would just paint or draw a wall or tree instead of a nice sunny landscape , it's nice when people appreciate the thing itself.

This is a sketch of the remains of one of the Dwarf Juniper trees that grow at certain hieghts in the Karacoram Mountains, this one was on the morrain ridge at the snout of the Chongolosia Glacia that I passed on my way into the mountains to climb a peak. Because of the slow rate of growth at these altitudes these trees tend to be very old. I could not resist this one it just seemed like a natural frame for the mountains beyond, one of which was a mountain called K7.
