Such beautiful colours I really like this

Good one Malcolm, fabulous and famous view

A big thank you to you all Hilary, Heather Dawn and Michael for your nice and much appreciated comments and yes Michael Lidesfarne does seem to be in fashion, I must admit it is because of Fiona's postings that got me looking back at the photos of my trip, an unbelievable two weeks in November with only rain on the day I left all the rest good weather and views to die for. Thank you all again.

A beautiful painting Malcolm

Love the colours, Malcolm.

Beautifully painted Malcolm, especially the use of colour and the overall harmony. Your early morning endeavours were well worth the effort. I’m lucky enough to live in Northumberland, which is so inspiring.

Thank you so much Linda, Katy and Carole, your comments and observations are really appreciated, its nice to know something has worked when trying something different. You are lucky Carole living up there wonderful country, mind you I cannot complain living in the varied landscape of the great county of Yorkshire.

Wow Malcolm! A wonderful atmospheric painting, well worth the sacrifice. Love the colours and the way you have applied them. I’m sorry that I haven’t been able to visit again this year, fingers crossed for next year!

Beautifully done Malcolm.

Many thanks Fiona and Diane for your observations, I really appreciate them more so because of using a different medium and getting that kind of response and I agree Fiona it would be nice to re visit but again out of season, the plus of this is I think I am getting back into my old painting style with this and my last posting of the climber in the Cairngorm.

Really atmospheric, a beautiful scene very nicely done Malcolm well worth the early freezing hour.

Thank you for your comment Carole I always appreciate your input, yes the Island is a magical place at ant time but to get two weeks in November of good weather as I did was amazing.

Whoops! sorry Carole I meant to say ANY time not ANT time some spelling mistake made it sound like the Island had been invaded.

A change for me, this is done in water soluble oils, it is from a 2 week stay I had on Lindesfarne one November in 2012, I got up early and stood with camera and tripod freezing on the foreshore just below were the old upturned boat huts are but the shots I got were well worth it.
