my thanks to you both. It was a very strong fence ( once upon a time) and stands out among fences (common in NZ) I think they must have had a special on when the thing was built - or else had their own trees. Have built up a fair number of photos over the years and am also doing this trip on a 3 weekly cycle with a daughter doing the driving - I carry a camera !
