I really do likethis Louise. Strong lines - straight and round - and your delicious palette !

Many thanks Avril. I appreciate your kind comment especially as I'll be off the front page in a minute due to some posting too many all at once! Because of the mp problem, I'm beginning to feel that I'm rather wasting my time posting on here at all. It's all becoming too annoying..!

So pretty - lovely technique too

A lively and busy painting, Louise. I particularly like the delivery bicycle in the foreground. I know what you mean about becoming despondent...but try not to! We all need you here! Especially people like me, suffering from painters block, and, I suspect, Fiona Phipps - where is that girl? - and where is Kirstie? Don't go Louise!

What a great painting. There's so much to see that it keeps your interest for ages. Fabulous.

I love the colours as usual and I particularly like it when you include a bike. Thanks for keeping posting despite the MPs.

Agreed, Super work Louise and like you commented on my pastel portrait of the playful Labrador pups, it is unbelievable what is going on with these mp's this week, it's as it there is a sign somewhere pointing in this direction saying anyone who wants to post howevermany works they want, whether they are any good or not, just put them all on here, there is another one today who seems to think it is fine to post 7 artworks at once! With no thought for the rest of us, when this all started on Monday or Tuesday and there where 4 of them who between them posted over 30 works! I had to go as far back as page 8 or 9 to find the other people with their one and two postings for the day!

Thank you Doranne, Lionel, Dawn, Sian and Ros. I know that I'm not the only one who gets annoyed at the sheer quantity of work that some thoughtless people post, apologise and then carry on posting, rather too many in my opinion! I have dozens of old sketches that I could post but ask myself why would I want to do that? I'm only interested in hearing what people think of my new works. I value other's opinions which I always take notice of. Old work is just old work and imagine if we all posted our entire collections?! I did contact the pol team about the mp problem and annoyingly had no reply from them which didn't help matters at all!

I just think that if there could be a limit of one per day (4 is too many in my opinion) then there wouldn't be a problem. I know that this has been discussed many, many times before but I do care about the site, I shall carry on posting my work and just hope that something can be done to solve what I consider to be a fault with the site.

Lovely sketch. Vibrant and full of energy. I contacted Dawn last year about MPs. She says she is the only administrator working part-time. They do not have the personnel to police the system as it is set up at the moment. It would probably require a complete re-write of the whole gallery. There are hundreds if not thousands of pictures in the system. It does perplex me that mistakes like that are made because I had no problem in understanding the set-up, but we are all different in the way that we approach things. I think a gentle reminder of the instructions ought to be enough and I do agree, they should then reduce the number to 4 and start again. However, not everyone is that considerate. It's a shame because a lot of good work goes un-acknowledged therefore. I pass over the excess and carry on so I don't miss out on other things so it is their loss of comments really; not worth getting an ulcer over or giving up!

Thanks Gudrun, hopefully it'll get sorted one day. I shall try not to mention it again..?! Thank you Helen. I've already painted a couple of smaller versions of this particular scene so had probably already made choices on colour and composition. This one is larger, done to fit a frame that I have!

A lovely painting Louise! The rosy colour overall is very interesting and suits the atmosphere well. The pen work is very confident but loose at the same time. I agree with all the comments about MPs! They have been really annoying this week and I just ignore them. I do try to go through all the pages but sometimes miss a posting or two of my "old friends" which is a shame. One per day would be good but of course to renew the whole system is very co stly so we just have to put up with it and do our best. This site means a lot to me and I sincerely hope that you are not quitting Louise.

Lots to look at in this Louise and so lovely to see more of your Manchester scenes. I use to visit Manchester a lot before moving much further north as my surrogate grandmother ( she was actually my great aunt) lived there. My brother is still an ardent Man City fan and he lives in Inverness!

Thanks Val. Thank you as well Satu and... as if I would! LOL

Another lovely piece, full of immediacy, light and lovely colors.

At last, a name and style I recognise! You make your street, town, city scapes look free and easy, they are so effective Louise. I'd love to have a go but find myself backing off from all the detail.

Thanks Fiona, nice to hear from you! Detail? Try using a liner pen, then adding the washes.

Scene with loads of interest value. I particularly like the jolly blue pillars and the blue bike. Another winner.

Just like Manchester itself you make the whole scene full of vitality and vim! I have been away and have come back to a catch up of fifty pages, I think that your painting is in the mid thirties but I am having a lovely time browsing at all the pages. Please don't feel defeated by the multiple posters as I am sure that there are many others like me who are happy to wade through the backlog and leave comments too. Maybe not as many! but I'm sure that there are some hardy souls out there :) All the best Louise.
