There is a dream like quality to this painting, and I love the movement you create in your work.

This is lovely, so much to look at I would never tire of doing so! How did you get the black so black? Whenever I use black watercolour, it goes blotchy!

Thanks Lesley and Kathryn. Kathryn, Don't use black watercolour. It's the one colour in the watercolour pallette that I never use! When all other colours are used up I'm always left with an untouched black! My skies start life in a light colour, prob pink here, I cant remember exactly. Then I apply washes in different shades, letting each one dry until I reach the colour that looks ok with the whole painting. I used masking fluid for the moon despite some people (you'll know who I mean) thinking I have a moon stamp ;) !!! Can I say here, congrats to Satu for winning Fiona&Terry. Looking forward to next challenge aren't we Robert !!!

This is so unusual!! Love how you vary it so much and come up with so much!! angi x

I like this very much.. you have put your beautiful flowers in your landscape.. such a good idea. Like Kathryn sait, there are so much to see in your painting.. very enjoyable..

Here I go again, but this makes me think of seeds waiting underground (the dark horizontal strip) to burst forth into life as flowers. You see the flowers waiting in the earth. The little village sleeps unaware of the drama that is going on below ground. Well - that's what I see in it and I like that I can extract that from your painting, Louise. Also is means that you are achieving what I think good art should, and engaging me as the viewer and inviting me to fill in the story and the details. P.S. Glad to see the moon back!

Thank you Angi, Ping and Thea. Thea, me and my moons! Infact, this started life in pale colours but I wasn't happy with it and darkened the whole painting. A bit of a gamble but it paid off I think. Now it's one of my favourites. It's in Colin Jellicoe's gallery, Manchester if anyone's passing.

Lovely and unusual again Louise. How I love the 'moon stamp'.............

Gosh - now I am in awe. Do you have paintings displayed in a gallery? Wow - that's wonderful and in a big place like Manchester, too. I am suitably impressed.

You always manage to come up with something different but just as beautiful and eyecatching as the previous painting.

There you go.......another wonderful painting. Really like your style.

Thea, gallery?, Chester open?, not important after my disapointment yesterday !!!:}

Many thanks, Carole, Miriam and Val.

This is absolutely lovely again Louise! I like the square format also, it's unusual for a watercolor.The colors are so soft and delicate. Well done!
