I like the flow of colours running through this one Louise.

Night time, party time! Great atmosphere Louise!

Place an angst-ridden self-portrait in the right foreground and you've got Munch's "Scream" Louise. That's a compliment: the industrial landscape is simply and unflnchingly rendered.

On their way to the nightclub! :o)

Beautiful. I love everything about this one Louise.

I like the darker wet rainy look to this one.

Thanks Debs, Satu, Kim, Carole, Joseph and Kevin. You'll all recognize this place if ever you find yourselves in Manchester as you've seen it rather a few times now and knowing me, I've probably not quite finished with it yet :) (you see, you shouldn't encourage me!)

Oh, I do like these dark and brooding colours. You are going more abstract again, which also suits the city scene portrayed here. The suggestion of a few figures adds to the authenticity.

Very moody version Louise, I suppose it must look that way at the moment wit wild weather we've had 'up North' I went to an exhibition at gallery Oldham a few years ago of a Wigan artist called Theodore Major. I think they thought he had past away but he contacted them to say he was still living! This picture reminds me of his paintings. I think you would like his work, there are probably some examples on the internet.

Thank you Stephen for mentioning Theodore Major. I found him on "your paintings". Dark skies over Wigan is brilliant. I like them all.

This certainly stands out in the gallery. It's a strong image - I was a little surprised when I realised it was watercolour. I think it's fantastic.

Looks like it could be oil, those rich darks are so, well, dark :)

Many thanks Thea, Stephen, Gudrun, Michelle, Amanda and Val. Stephen, I looked him up and see what you mean. Imagine though having to say to someone, actually, I'm still alive! His paintings are very atmospheric but Manchester isn't so mucky these days. I remember the thick black fogs we used to have and it's all so different now! Val, this one started out with a pale yellow sky and turned darker and darker. I found myself using ivory black straight from the tube instead of my paynes grey of which I'm rather fond but had run out of. This area of Castlefied isn't at all industrial, it's rather a beautiful, fascinating place today!

And another stunning result! One of my favorites, Louise - so full of life and movement.

Many thanks Seok and Michelle!
