What's this then Mr S - great to see you posting different subjects and this is really vibrant - please do post more.

Hi Kirstie and Michael, Thanks for your kind comments; so very much appreciated. I found that I quite liked doing this particular pic., from imagination so I can be that much freer, (more free) with the brush strokes. Unlike pics from photos or real life, I cannot get it "wrong" !

Beautiful bunch of sunshine Lionel. Lovely to see you trying something different too, very free and vibrant. I hope your wife is making a complete recovery x

Hi Fiona. Thank you once again for your encouraging comments. Not sure when I can find more time for painting. My wife is no better. She is thinking of trying an osteopath next. The chiropractor did not help. Meanwhile my sister, who is single, has been admitted to hospital and is not expected to be allowed back to her house. I wont begin to describe the difficulties that this presents! Why am I telling you all this on a painting site?!! Hope you are well and I will continue to look out for your postings. x

Love your colours in this one Lionel, a really good one for brightening up the day

This more than turned out OK, Lionel! I love the bright colors and the fact that you painted them as you saw them in your mind. There is something very liberating about that and it comes out in your painting. I'm sorry to hear about your wife and sister. I wish them a full recovery.

Hello there Lionel, I thought I would check up on one of my favourites on the gallery. I hope you are well Lionel and your wife too......I hope her back is much improved. This is the first look in on the site for such a long time, I went through the first dozen pages and talk about a multi poster!!! I haven't got the time never mind the inclination to trawl through that lot!! As you have guessed I haven't had the chance to put paint to paper, hence no postings, lots of reasons why but I won't bore you with them. I'd love to see you painting again Lionel if your health lets you. My very warmest regards to you, Fiona. xxx

I'm so very pleased to hear that your health is improving Lionel and Mary's back too is on the mend. Reflexology is very good, I've tried that myself. Has Mary tried acupuncture, it doesn't cure the ailment but it certainly helps with the pain. I have couple of dodgy shoulders and it helps, I find. I know what you mean about motivation, this is an issue for me too......as well as not having as much time these days to paint. What are we like?!Lol I hope that we will both get that spark back.......and soon, or I will forget what to do with a brush! As always my very good wishes to you both and I hope that your troubles will soon smooth out and give you peace of mind. Fiona xxx

Lovely , bright and beautiful flowers Lionel! They make a great composition. I have just read the above replies and I hope that your wife and sister are very much better. It always seems to be the case that everything that is not so good seems to land on our doorsteps all at the same time, but hopefully, it will be followed by lots of good fortune. I know of someone who had acupuncture on his back and the pain was relieved very well. He would go back for top ups every few months, and it gave him more movement than he would have had otherwise. All the best Sarah

How's that painting coming on Lionel? I saw your comment on the new watercolourist Jem Bowdn's page. He's very good isn't he? I very, very nearly got my paint brush out this afternoon too....but failed. I have last years Christmas card of our very own Alan Owen's and I fancy a go at it....it is an uncomplicated snow scene which I think will suit my first painting in a while. What a pair we are!Lol. I hope Mary and yourself are enjoying better health and luck these days. As always my warmest wishes to you both. x Looking forward to seeing your painting.

Lionel, guess what????? I've done it, I've done a watercolour!!! I can't tell you how hard it was, I don't know how many times I went backwards and forwards to that piece of blank, white paper before putting a mark on it. How can we be so terrified of a single sheet of watercolour paper?! I will post it as soon as I get permission from Alan and you can tell me what you think, I know I always get an honest opinion from you, whichI value. It's perhaps a little tight for me but it's a start. Good luck with yours, keep at it. Warm regards Fiona xxx

I've left a comment on your latest posting Lionel, but I have to tell you again how wonderful your news is, you must be so happy and relieved. You must be thrilled to be in touch with your son after so many years too.......fancy that, you now have two Fiona's in your life, and both in Scotland!!Lol.
I didn't realise you were in Lincolnshire, that's were I lived before moving to Scotland.
Take care of yourself and look after Mary, best wishes Fiona xx
