Lionel, this is great! Colours are wonderful and there's a real feeling of space and softness. Well done!

Lionel this is absolutely stunning......I'm very envious!! Love the sky, the misty hills and the un-fussy foreground. More, more, more!!!

Beautiful painting Lionel

Beautiful soft colour and a gorgeous sky. Well done Lionel you should be proud of this.

A very restful and serene painting, with some lovely colour mixes - acrylic has come a long way since I first used it: don't know if you remember them as they used to be, very brash and hard colours - fine for some applications, but wouldn't have worked well for this. Your painting demonstrates their flexibility and refinement these days - and yours: and you can certainly choose a far worse model than Stephen Higton.

Thank you all very much for your kind comments. They are so encouraging.

Wow - this is great - forgive me but I am inspired to have a go at something similiar in watercolour.

And why not, Michael? I really look forward to seeing the end result.

Thanks Lionel - not sure when but I will have a go and post it. All the best.

Hi Lionel, thank you for the information re: Edward Wesson on Google....I didn't know that! I have a couple of books by Ron Ranson about Wesson, and there are some pictures of his work. They are a constant source of inspiration and ideas......I call them my Bibles!! I'm going straight away to google Wesson. Thanks again for taking the trouble to let me know Lionel. I've been looking on the gallery for your next painting, I really do love your latest works.x

Of course I can believe you have commissioned work!! I hope the subject is something you enjoy doing. I've looked at that site Lionel....wow......a whole lot more inspiration!! I've got my eye on another book too :) Look forward to seeing your next posting. Take care X

Oh Lionel, I hope you haven't been fretting about the comments you made. I will not accept your apology because there is no need for one. I love receiving your input on anything I do, and I would rather have honest remarks than passifying remarks. I'll never improve if I don't get honest opinions!! So, can we make a pact....you tell me how it is, and I promise not to get in a huff?XX

Lionel, which painting did you base this on??

Another big sky and water view, with apologies to Stephen Higton. I like the way this has turned out; hope viewers do as well.
