Like both of these Lionel, this one wins marginally in my opinion! Love the colours that you've used in both.

Well, I need my eyes testing, I can barely see the signature but now I'm intrigued ! :)

No eye tests required, and certainly not for you, Kirstie. Yes, you can see MBE. After nearly eight years in the Merchant Navy as a Radio Officer, I got a post with the then Ministry of Overseas Development as a Wireless Officer in the British Solomon Islands Protectorate, which eventually became Solomon Islands. I served there for nearly 25 years beginning 1962, each tour of duty being two years followed by six months leave. In1973 I was promoted to Comptroller of Posts and Telecommunications. In 1978 I was awarded the Solomon Islands Independence Medal and in the Queens Birthday Honours List 1981 I was awarded the Most excellent Order of the british Empire, MBE. (Thirty years ago this month). I returned to UK in December 1986 and then......but that's another story!

The above is on this site for both Kirstie and Louise, (I couldn't type it out twice), and for anyone else who might be interested.

How wonderful, well done and congratulations! You must be so proud to have been awarded such an honour. Now I shall regard you in a completely different light Sir ! Again, very well done.

Impressionist piece inspired by Lena Karpinsky; see, for example, www.artbylena.com/original-painting/20635/autumn-sunrise.html. The overall size of the frame is a tad more than 14 inches by 11 inches; (about 368 by 283 mm). It is acrylic on canvas. Lena's work is much bigger and is oil. Still, I enjoyed doing it, about a year ago, and hope that you enjoy seeing it. Let me know. And if you don't, still let me know !!
