Well, I think it is subtle and charming, Lionel, and wish I could do as well. For more slapdash see my acrylic field of rape ! There have been a few others posted, too.

Looking forward now to seeing your abstract watercolour. You might be sorry that you mentioned that idea :) I'll most probably remind you ! With regard to this one, it's a lovely calm painting, definately not slapdash.

I think this is a lovely landscape Lionel , do you really want to be slapdash or do you mean you want to loosen up a little ? : )

This is a lovely landscape. Your painting is probably more skillful than a lot of what the Royal Academy has to offer at the moment!

I very much like your sky and clouds at times this can be the hardest part of a painting and when done well it makes a painting feel right, I also like your fields and trees, a very pleasant painting. eaves.

Thank you all very much for your kind comments; they are really most encouraging. Louise and William; I think perhaps that I do mean "loosen up". Also, I think I meant impressionist rather than abstract. Anyway, I certainly meant it within the use of acrylics. The water colour remark was just a threat in relation to changing from my usual media of choice to something quite different. But the style?? Don't know.

Usual stuff; distant fields and a couple of trees. Not exactly Royal Academy, is it? Still, I quite enjoy doing it but want to branch out into something a bit more slapdash, bit more abstract. I might also try watercolours!!
