Excellent sketches , each one is so well drawn. I like the first one best , don’t know why it just appeals, the last one has a look of Richard Nixon. I read about Dick Turpin and was surprised at what a very nasty person he was , nothing like the myth we hear.

I like them all but the suspense of the second one is killing!🤭

Great characterisation. Can't kelp but wonder the first one (a cavalry officer?) is reacting to.

I like them all 😏 lovely sketches and well drawn Lewis 😊

Impressive group of characters.

That is a nice tasty morsel, fat lady on a floating wine gum, for the shark! Love Dick’s horse, Doberman ears and a wry smile. The top left looks like a Confederate seeing the hankies approaching. Tricky Dicky is superb too! They are all brilliant! Can’t wait for you to publish your books of drawings.

Wonderful drawings as always Lewis, all brilliant but Dick Turpin even more so if possible.I've said it so many times but I just love to seek out those small details such as Turpin's dagger.

Great sketches, love the horse’s expression!

Yes Marjorie is right the suspense of the second one is palpable....I think you need to take it's step further Lew ...

Thanks very much for your comments. Not much to take further Sylvia, all the shark in my drawing can do is give the woman a really nasty suck.

More wondrous and perfectly drawn characters

Amazing sketches, Lewis - I like Dick Turpin and his horse's matching smiles!

Very good as always Lewis, well up to your very high standard of characterization. The pin is great and think he only smiled when indulging in dastardly deeds !!!

A great group of characters Lewis.

Super sketches Lewis. The highwayman is great and love the fact his horse has the same expression. I also like the second one of the shark with no teeth!!

Brilliant sketches Lewis. Love Gums and the look on the horses face.

I agree with Marjorie!!! Thanks Lewis for a smile again! These are SO good!

The GUMS thing is a tribute to the JAWS Movie Poster. I remember drawing a pic on a t-shirt like this for my son when the movie came out in the 1970's. The Highwayman is Dick Turpin, the myth about him is based on a Dick Turpin who was a horrible nasty piece of work. Pen, pencil and water soluble pencils in various sketchbooks.
