Smashing ... I feel a Hollywood series coming on?

Know the film really well. A favourite. Watched many times. Great painting.

That a good one Lewis. The feeling really comes through, you have hit the mark!

Just love this, great painting with that limited palette.

Superb Lewis.

It’s a superb piece Lew, you have certainly got the hang of the acrylics .

Totally splendid.

Superb, Lewis! So this is what you’ve been working on….the material of his coat so realistic, Bogey’s face spot on and a credible atmosphere of mystery and intrigue.

Wonderful. It captures the atmosphere perfectly.

This excellent interpretation is testament to your talent - great job all round Lew!

Stunning artwork, tribute to the Maltese Falcon, well done.

Thanks for looking and your encouraging comments. The Maltese Falcon is a favourite film. Watched again recently, for me, still a favourite film crammed with great actors and characters that fairly zips along. Made in 1941, it’s a year younger than me but has lost none of its charm, wish I could say the same thing bout myself.

Superb Lewis!

Wonderful Lewis.

Unmistakable, excellent

You've mastered acrylics in no time Lewis, a superb piece of work.

A stunning portrait of one of my favourite actors. That look is spot on Lewis.

I can see this displayed outside cinemas Lewis, fantastic! His mackintosh is superbly painted.

A super likeness Lew. I do like how you achieved textures on his hat and coat.

Brilliant, Lewis!

A real change of direction here Lewis. We seem to be coming at art in opposite directions. I started with realism and have finally settled on design and Zentangle whereas you started with cartoon and have worked up to realism - interesting! Change is what it’s all about.

The Maltese Falcon I presume. Excellent!

Thanks again for your great response to this picture, much appreciated and valued.

Wow, really impressive Lewis.

Really good, like it !

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
