Love that menacing look! Another good one, Lewis!

Definitely not the sort I'd like to come across in the marshes. Splendid illustration, wonderful detail, including the mud.

A superb menacing looking character, bit like my old Flight Sergeant on a bad day .

Realy catching the desperate convict look. Obviously he wasn't released by mistake!

Takes me back to O Level English. Great character again Lew

Oh my, wouldn't want to meet him on a dark night, another excellent drawing

One of Dickens best works, great picture Lew.

Great character, a very menacing look.

Another absolute beauty (not literally) Lewis. Your illustrations are superb.

Great illustration of Magwitch.

Superb Lewis. I remember watching a black and white version of this great book on TV many, many years ago, the first time Magwitch appeared was terrifying!

I bet he’s a big softie really…… 😳

Thanks for your comments. Oh dear, I think you may have given the ending away Marjorie. I recently re-read the opening to this book, and was surprised what a brute Dickens made of Magwitch.

Another belter Lew!

Excellent character Lewis.

Yup, that's Magwitch alright. Really like it.

Brilliant face, reminds me of someone I know !

He'd look equally at home in Treasure Island.

Wouldn’t like to meet him on a dark night! Super Lewis

Your imagination knows no boundaries Lewis!

Pretty well spot on Lewis. Despite the menacing look, those eyes give away a glint of kindness.

So evil! Brilliant, Lewis!

Terrific Lewis!

Living on the marshes in a hulk doesn’t do much for the complexion. I’ll try not to do that!

He'd scare anyone!! Brilliant, Lewis, as always!
