I would slap his face Lewis!

But all he said was "I think somebody just nicked the Mona Lisa!" ...(-: Nice work Lewis...

It's great work - and fun

Fabulous work Lewis. I think you should put all these paintings of yours into a book, you'd make a fortune!!!

Shock....horror.....great painting Lewis.

Margaret´s suggestion of putting all those cartoons in a book seems a good idea. You´d just have to find the right publisher. You could try and get a weekly entry in a magazine or newspaper first.

Thank you all for your encouraging comments. Margaret and Pat's remarks about a book are a generous thought, but I've reached an age where I don't want to jump through all those hoops. I just do it for fun. I like posting my pictures and looking at all the wonderful and inspiring work on this site, that's enough for me right now. I am making a book for myself (photobook style), at my son's suggestion, but that's a different thing entirely. I'll be interested to see what it looks like, and won't have to sort through the ever increasing pile of work under my bed, to show my pictures to friends.

I can imagine it. Smashing work

I like the notion of paintings coming alive. Here Casanova leans from his frame to ask the gallery attendant a question. I'm not sure what the question was, but it probably wasn't 'what time does the number 52 bus get here?' Watercolour, pen and ink, 12x10inches

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
