RIGHT BEHIND YOU !! (Sorry having another rant).

Let me say I'm not political and don't support any party, I'm just appalled at what's happening now and over the last few years. I thought I'd better get this in quickly while she's still PM. It's knocked off pretty quickly because it's not a fun thing to draw. I have no sympathy for Liz Truss, nor the Tories for selecting her. They all said they must get behind the new leader , and they meant it (with their knives). They are now saying they need to get behind the new chancellor, so watch your back Mr Hunt! With this bunch in power we'll be a third world country before we know it. Rant over.

I AM political, and support a political party - indeed, I'm still a sort of Agent-in-waiting in my constituency, ready to run a general election campaign if they can't find anyone younger and with more energy. So party card on the table. But this cartoon tells a horrible truth (I like the mad eye in Truss's face). Whatever one's political party, this has been a shameful episode in our politics - had it been a Labour Prime Minister, I'd still have said so. Like it or loathe it, the Conservative Party has been one of the great parties of state, returning Prime Ministers like Baldwin, Churchill, Macmillan, Lord Home - even Thatcher, although my view is that she unleashed horrible damage on the country, can anyone imagine her being responsibe for so comprehensive and shaming disaster as this? Fantasy politics sums it up perfectly, Lew - you just need to be tolerably intelligent and sane to find it so. And by the way, it's an excellent caricature.

You are so right Lew , it’s so sad for the country that idiots have been allowed to choose fools to run/ ruin our country . What’s even worse they get away with it and cash in their pockets as well, I did think we are a third world country in all but name already.

I do belong to a political party but never ever would I belong to this one. The sad thing is that so many people don’t seem to mind the lying or complete lack of moral compass. If those “ at the top” ( debatable) don’t set an example that becomes acceptable behaviour for lots of people. Yet I expect there are still many mad enough to say “ Bring back…..” no, I won’t even mention him. Glad you posted this Lewis.

Couldn't agree more Lewis. And splendidly drawn too.......would write more but now seems a good time to retrain to become a big bonus banker safe in the knowledge that, whoever is in charge from this shower, they will look after me.

This is Impressive. I sympathize with you. We, in USA, are going thru quite a time, also. Sane people need to unite!

It's a great illustration Lewis and I have to say, I never thought I'd live to see our country in such a state. It is demoralising.

I’ve never understood politics, and to be honest, I’ve never been interested enough to understand it. But at the moment I find myself saying “WHAT”…….out loud! Great cartoon and very topical, I think your pen maybe busy for the foreseeable future.

Brilliant Lewis I have to agree with you 100 percent. But just one thing I notice about politics. Why is it who ever while in opposition know all the answers but never provide the solutions when in power.

Totally agree Lewis even though i can't vote anywhere now. Governments all over seem to only work for their own agendas, not for the good of the people they 'serve' [or should do!!]

I do think this is a bit over the top. All politicians are just fallible human beings, like the rest of us.They come and go, have their moment of fame and then fade into the distance. After living through multiple election, going left and right, nothing seems to change. I shall retreat back to my watercolours!
