Brilliant! That's cheered up my day! Thank you Lewis dear!

How true ... and a great drawing

Ha ha, great drawing and characters as always Lew.

Excellent Lew , your pen work is the tops .

Smashing artwork Lewis.

Brilliant lewis

Short back and sides, brings back childhood memories. Well captured Lew.

Brilliant work Lewis, I can remember asking for a Tony Curtis hair cut!

Such brilliant expressions Lewis and so, so, humorous. You’re a genius.

Thanks to everybody for your great feedback. Much appreciated.

Great start to the day Lew, and so typical of old-time barbers. I've been to barbers , one of whom demonstrated his golf swing, and another older chap who had a violin in the shop and needed no persuading to play it. (-:

Great drawing, Lewis, love the mix of watercolour and pencil.

I don’t go to the barbers…honest. but hair dressers are similar. You missed off “ anything for the weekend sir?” .

This is just a stunning piece. I love the limited palette and the superb way you've captured the moment. Wonderful work, Lewis!

How true is this. I changed my hairdresser because she never stopped gossiping. Not only to me but anyone else who would listen. Drove me mad. Concentrate on my hair I wanted to shout! Now I go elsewhere where I can get a word in edgeways! Such good drawing and characters here as always Lewis.

Great characters.

Thanks to all for your comments.

Made me chuckle! Terrific (as always!)

I’m lucky with my hairdresser, she paints, so we talk art! Great painting Lewis.

Superb as always, Lewis.

Great characters and so true ! 😀

and I still request a "short back and sides"

A recollection of a 1950's barber, where the choice of hair style was very limited, but the range of banter completely endless. It was 'a trim up or a short back and sides', but they could have had a huge menu for chat. Background wash in watercolour, figures drawn with a blue-violet coloured pencil.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
