Got it the long neck goes back to Parigianino The Madonna with the Long Neck.(Mannerism) 16th century. He started it off.

Yes John. I wasn’t thinking of those artists, when I drew this. I just wanted to draw without references (I often do), so everything is unreal, the flowers are somewhere between a Lilly and an iris. I like the Madonna with the long neck and mannerism in general because they have an unreal feeling. In the Madonna painting one of her feet has an astonishing 3d effect.

Those eyes certainly engage with the viewer. I can just imagine you building this up and the two of you locking eyes as the image developed. Love the colours you chose.

I like this style. Girl slightly stylized...long neck...eyes too big. Used some coloured inks-haven't used them in a while. Vivid. I like vivid colour as you can see. Also used watercolour, coloured pencils and pen.
