This was painted from a photograph taken hurriedly as we walked on the Downs on a blustery Spring morning. The blossom was mirrored by the small clouds, and I wanted to get the impression of movement and energy. The branches were drawn using indian ink and a stick; I did a lot of spattering, and dropping of wet paints and paints mixed with PVA adhesive into one another.
