Interesting method, and it's delivered a very successful and unusual painting. I suppose you've broken a few "rules" in the composition - but then taking a risk with convention does produce striking results when you know what you're doing, as you obviously do. The small and plentiful marks on the large shapes give a real feel of texture and movement, and the opening out of the composition towards the top gives an impression of growth and space. Roughly what size is this, by the way?

Thank you, Robert - I see you are a very skillful painter of cliffs and coasts amoung other things ypurself. My picture is 39x 50cm - I must look to see where to include this so that it comes up; you're not the first person to ask me. Kezia

I was taken with the texture of the trunk and roots of this windswept old oak. I prepared the board with acrylic matte medium applied lightly with a small roller, waited for it to dry, and them used acrylic paints and watercolour pencils to pick out the colours.
