Painted from a collection of photos taken on a dark New Year's Day walking in Sherwood Forest. This was the base of a 20-foot high dead oak stump, and even though taken in a very poor light, the photo showed the almost flourescent green lichen. The other colours were there in muted form, and a little imagination brought them up to compete.
