Thank you, Sue. I'm amassing my personal archive of photos, and 'trees' is my largest folder - they lend themselves wonderfully to semi-abstraction. Kezia

Another picture painted from a dull photograph. The old oak tree had rotted and broken away to a twisted stump. It was New Year's Day and the light wouldn't last long, but we passed one of these ancient trees or slowly decaying stumps every few minutes on our walk, and it was not difficult to amass a collection of pictures to mull through later at home for ideas for painting.
