A largely imagined atmospheric scene in front of the Basilica San Marco, Venice, derived from a wide variety of images, and my own imagination. It is nighttime during the annual Carnival. Traditionally costumed revellers dance to the music of a similarly costumed band. Unlike reality no unsightly tourists are present ! An excuse to have fun portraying some beautiful costumes, and play with the artificial colour "painted" on the actually pinky-white buildings by the street lighting.. 70cm x 50cm, Acrylic on canvasboard.
