I’m not surprised it sold. It’s a great painting and a view I recognise from visiting Portsmouth. I particularly like the clouds and the reflections in the water against the great detail of the ship.

A small oil painting completed after visiting Portsmouth's Historic Dockyard in Jan 2023. Just as I was leaving to catch the train back home to Nottingham I spotted this view of HMS Warrior. The original sold at the annual ROI exhibition in Dec 2023.
