Vivid, alluring even. Really like it But put me out of my misery. I live quite near the River Mole but the Esher/Hampton Court end and I can't place this scene so is it further upstream from the Thames?

Thank you Lewis and Susan! Susan, yes, it’s upstream from Esher - one of the railway bridges over the Mole at Leatherhead, just a short way downstream from the road bridge at the bottom of the town. Most people paint the town bridge, but I prefer painting this one.

20 x 25 cm. Yet another version of a local scene I’ve painted numerous times before. I try to make each different, and this time have used a bolder pen outline with my Neocolour II wax pastels which has resulted in rather harsher and more acidic colours than my usual watercolour, although the colours in this image actually look a lot softer than the original. Was good to try something a bit different, but not sure of the result!
