Lots of difficult angles to draw; interesting church; good use of colour. Should be proud of this picture.

What a great watercolour - someone was asking elsewhere (Facebook, where else?) how to stop watercolours looking insipid - well, I thought, try using enough paint and don't just flood everything with water. He should have seen this as an answer to his question.

Thank you so much Brenda and Robert for your very kind comments. I don't very often paint scenes like this and have to confess I found it hard going, but just kept slogging away until it felt right. Used quite a bit of white gouache on the buildings as I couldn't seem to the colour right initially and had to make numerous changes!

What a great success and exceptional watercolour Jenny. Lots of difficult angles, like the style very much.

Yes, I am also "drawn" (excuse the pun) to churches. I love to sit quietly inside them. This looks a beautiful one Jenny.

A wonderful painting Jenny I think your basic drawing is great too.

Many thanks Fiona, Adele and Carole!

Thank you, Dennis!

This is so good Jenny, quite a difficult piece which you have handled well.

Many thanks, Margaret!

That's a lovely piece of work Jenny

Our lovely local parish church, painted from a photo I took a few days ago. I'm not particularly religious, but love church buildings, the earliest part of this one dates back to the 11th century.
