This is lovely Jenny, love this ink work very atmospheric.

A lovely lead into the painting and a beautifully painted tree Jenny.

Excellent work Jenny, beautifully drawn.

I don’t remember this Jenny, love the monochrome.

Thanks very much, both Caroles, Paul and Fiona!

I like this very much Jenny. It's quite meditative.

A little stunner!

It’s a lovely composition Jenny, excellent drawing.

Wow that is very good! It is very moody!

A Stunner Jenny.

Thank you, Diane, Heather, Alan, David and Denise for your lovely comments!

Atmospheric is the right word and love those stepping stones.

Many thanks, Richard!

I am wondering what are the changes you’ve made, Jenny. This has a quality of longing that draws you into the image with expectation that you hope will be satisfied.

Frank, thanks for your comment - this was done using the ink resist method which has produced an overall soft effect, but I had drawn an ink outline around the water flowing through the stones - and on reflection, going back to the painting after some time, this appeared rather harsh and distracting so I worked over it with a white pastel to remove the outlines and I’m much happier with it now. This is a local landmark that I’ve painted quite a few times but hadn’t used ink before - so much more difficult than watercolour which you can lift out to make adjustments!

Love this, Jenny, in monochrome. Beautifully designed, has a Japanese feel to it.

Thanks, Marjorie! There’s something very appealing about monochrome, I will have to try another in this style.

Jenny, thanks for your response to my comment. It’s always good to learn the thought processes that lead to any end result. And here the result rewards the effort. We can all learn by studying the methods of other artists.

This is so tranquil, a lovely painting.

Thank you, Judith!

Indian ink (6” x 7”) Not a new one - originally done a few years back but I’ve made some changes and just wanted to add it to my gallery.
