Excellent design Jenny

Beautiful Linocut Jenny, very atmospheric.

Thanks very much for the positive comments!

I always love looking at the design in your work. It flows beautifully

It seems to have taken a while to come to fruition, but worth the wait.

So beautiful Jenny. I always admire the perfection in your prints, so clean and crisp. Love the subject.

Many thanks, Diana, William and Fiona! (It does take a quite a few draft prints before I eventually get rid of all the specks on the white - I know these are usually accepted as part of the charm of a linocut, but it bothers me to see them on my own work!)

You did a brilliant job Jenny, it's beautiful!

Thanks very much, Diane!

This is super Jenny and has a simple elegance. I now never lift paper fully off the lino until I’m sure there are no light ink spots, re-inking if necessary, as touching up can be such a pain.

Thanks, Frank! Yes, touching up can be a pain. I’ve actually now invested in a better quality, slightly softer roller which I’m hoping will make a difference. The one I’m using at the moment is not only a bit narrow, but rather hard which I think is part of my problem getting the right ink coverage. (Must admit, I’d not thought of lifting the paper slightly to see if any areas needed re-inking - good tip!)

Good composition here, Jenny. I’m a bit like you in touching up blemishes but I think it’s standard practice.

Thanks, Frank! When I first started lino cutting I thought it was somehow ‘cheating’ to touch up afterwards, so pleased to hear that it now seems to be standard practice!

Don't know how I missed this linocut. Such a good design.

Many thanks, Richard!

Linocut 15 x 20 cm. I posted the design for this a while ago - finally got round to cutting it. A scene inspired by my walks along the River Mole with its abundance of wildlife. Getting more confident with the cutting, but still struggle with the printing, trying to get the ink just right so it prints evenly - had to touch up quite a few bits on this.
