Some good variations in the tones Jenny and has a sense of depth.

Thanks, John, good to get your comments again.

Love the sense of walking out along the stones...you've caught the distance so well, Jenny

Many thanks, Thalia!

this works really well Jenny lovely tonal work

This is really good work Jenny.

It's an excellent piece Jenny, interesting work.

Jenny I like this very much, you’ve got the balance about right. Love that mottled effect in the background.

Thanks very much David, Margaret, Alan and Fiona for your encouraging comments. (I meant to say in my notes that I used gum arabic as the resist for this, it works really well and is easier to apply than gouache - also saves wasting gouache!)

You have got a good variety of tones and marks. I especially like the trees

Thanks, Alita! (The trees turned out better than expected, I was worried they might look too uniformly dark, and with ink you can't lift out like you can with watercolour!)

Small ink resist (6.5" x 7"). Think this might have been bit ambitious for my second attempt at ink resist, but it is a scene I've painted several times before. Used different strengths of ink this time and decided not to add colour. Not sure how well it's worked, but am fed up with it now so will leave as it is - might try another version now I've a better idea of what I'm doing!
