This really attracted me Jenny. I like the composition and the style. I particularly love the mottled effect of the grass and hills. The tree bark is superb. I like the clouds peeking between the hills. The whole painting works for me. If I was to change one thing - and this is just my preference - I would lift the sun up slightly to be a bit more separate from the trees. Forgot to mention, I also love the outlining.

Beautiful work Jenny excellent piece

Composition wise, my eyes zig zag through the scene to the distant hills taking in the tree, birds and hills so it works for me. I like the bold shapes and style with the pastel colours giving it a gentle and calm atmosphere. You have a very distinctive style which is easily recognisable in the thumbnails

Thanks very much Adele, Dennis and Diana for your positive comments. It's actually the branches of the tree that I'm not happy with - and, Adele, you're probably right that the sun would look better a little higher. I think I might do this again with a few changes, and in my preferred colours. What looks fine at the design stage often looks very different once you start applying the colours!

Jenny, I love the branches! I love all of it!

Different and original, I like it very much.

Eye catching there's almost an oriental theme and your style is so effective.

Many thanks Fiona, Sandra and Lesley for your welcome comments.

This is so lovely Jenny. I really like the colours you have used, you could illustrate a book!

Thanks very much Margaret!

Similar design to an earlier painting, I did this to fit a spare frame, but have ended up with a composition I'm not really happy with. Also used colours I'm not really comfortable with, so don't know how successful this has been!
