Incoming tide and Isle of May - take two by Jem Bowden

Fife has a lovely coastline - I live on the Northumberland coast. I can imagine the challenge, but an enjoyable one, which you had here. A great result! Re your comment on mine….yes, the decision to start again gave me a sense of freedom, I relaxed! What I’d done wrong was to concentrate on the landscape leading up to the horizon, instead of what had attracted me - the sky and the distance top left.

It's very good indeed, you've captured this so well

Like the movement and colour, nicely done.

I love the feeling of the approaching tide and its movement so well depicted Jem. An admirable seascape.

Thank you for your comments.

Beautiful seascape!

A second experimental 'fast moving water' plein air painting of water rushing in over rocks. A very difficult but highly enjoyable challenge that I've occasionally taken on since moving to the Fife coastline. On a different subject, I have an article in the magazine this month on the subject of composition. If anyone has any questions arising from that, please feel free to ask me in the comments here. Just a thought. Cheers, Jem
