Tree on brow above Saltford - en plein air

Tree at keynsham ridge wm

Nicely caught and well painted scene with a sense of mystery in the signposts Jem. Like it.

Another superb example of subdued greens and blue/greys producing a brilliant, effective result. Your website galleries and videos, together with your Leisure Painter articles, are a great inspiration!

A lot ot like here, great composition and limited colour palette

A lovely image, right down to the wonky signpost!

Masterful and at first glance in your unique style, like always Jem!

Thank you all very much for your kind comments.

I looked at this for quite a while - it does seem to me to have everything that a good watercolour needs, it catches your attention, the tree dominates of course, but doesn't distract from the attention one pays elsewhere: there's something of interest wherever you look.

Always like your watercolours, Jem

Thanks again, Maureen and Robert - much appreciated.

Thanks, Margaret

A recent plein air painting of a really characterful old tree I first noticed while on a journey past the area. Right at the top of a hill, and could be painted from any angle as it's got such a great shape. I'll have to return another time to do one of the alternatives. All paintings are available to purchase directly from my website: www.jembowdenwatercolour.co.uk Thanks for looking.
