Rock near La Cova Negra, Valencia region, Spain
This one was a bit of a challenge, being a very different landscape to that of Blighty which I normally depict - I don't leave the country very often! I think this is one of my looser pieces, and I stopped working on it more quickly than I had expected. This is almost always a positive feeling. I try to stop as soon as I perceive there to be a balance to a painting. The theory being that at that point it probably has the essentials in place, and to continue will take it out of balance again. And would merely build detail for the sake of detail. Thank you very much to everyone who has taken the time to comment on my work recently. www.jembowdenwatercolour.co.uk
