“Yellow Submarine”
Continuing my Beatles theme this Lennon and McCartney song was written in 1966 and featured Ringo Starr, the drummer as the main singer. The song inspired the 1968 animation of Yellow Submarine. In the US the release of the song coincided with the controversies surrounding Lennon’s’ “More popular than Jesus” remark which led to some radio stations imposing a ban on the Beatles’ music.
