Written in 1968 by McCartney I tried for a pop-art style scene for this piece. Not particularly happy with it ( bad pain day), but posted it anyway. The phrase was inspired by McCartneys early visits to High Park Farm near Campbeltown, Scotland, which he purchased in 1968. He said ‘ it was the sight of a road stretching up into the hills’. But, in the 1990s he said it was “all about the unattainable; the door you never quite reach .. the road you never get to the end of.”
