This landscape in ink and coloured pencil also shows the transitional time when winter moves slowly into spring. The bleached reeds in the foreground were built up using base colours, embossing and layering, and the withered brambles were heavily outlined in ink, with colour and highlights added. In the distance, fresher greens give it a bit of a lift.
