Marden Morning
May is the month when I visit Marden Meadow to study its Green-Winged Orchids. It's a difficult subject, because the interest is at ground level, so I usually resolve it by crouching in the grass and taking a worm's eye view. Many of the meadow plants, like Common Plantain, lend themselves to an interpretation in ink and coloured pencil, so I just get creative, adding embossing and lifting out to the mix of techniques.
