We love bluebell woods, but they are so difficult! The interest is at ground level and the trees are vertical, so a satisfying composition is hard to achieve. I chose a slope, and the copse behind adds some shadow and varied foliage. I've introduced a diagonal in the foreground tree trunk - and another excuse to enjoy the great combination of ink and coloured pencil. If you like this unusual mix of media, my book "Landscape in Ink and Coloured Pencil" will be published on 27 June '22 by Crowood Press.
