Your dad is right about your schoolwork as that is the basis you need should you ever want to go to uni to study art. Good of you to finish your maths after painting. Did it make it easier to do maths after painting or was it more difficult?

No I think maths is always horrible lol :)) It wasnt easier, but wasnt more difficult. Mum used to do my school stuff with me, but Dad works a lot and the tutor hates art and loves maths. One time I painted a big list of numbers for her to show her that maths can also be art :) but she didnt laugh and was proper moody all day

I suppose any subject is difficult and needs study and application to be good at it. When you are a famous artist, you will need some maths to check your tax it right! Keep doing both.

How wicked can you be.....I hate mats as well. But it is a horrid necessity of life and when all the learnings done you can use it or lose it. Painting is much more fun, but. I used to have long hair I could sit on a good bit older than you but old age crept up and off it all came . So thisgrey haired old wrinkle can just wash and go. You should see my grand daughters hair... she is in her last year before her A levels and is applying to various University's do study fine art . She has just been offered a place at Leeds . Like you she has drawn and painted since she was very young. Interesting colour palette you have used here ...green! . What is this wonderful board you use that you can just wipe your pics ff at the end of the day ? Sounds good. Xx

Just different bits of wood, some have varnish, some dont. I started painting on wooden Ikea dinner mats when I was young so it feels normal to use wooden boards. Sometimes I manage to use the same bit of wood about 3 or 4 times, but if I have to scrape off and leave a dent, I just fill it flat before starting again. My Dad also brings home bits of wood for me. I'm always green and black when I paint myself. I thinkn this is because all I remember from funerals is everyone wearing black, and the green of the grass and when I see myself it reminds me of it, so image of me are always those colour. xx

You sound like me Harriett, I always want to paint things which I like doing. Like you I too hated maths and would rather do painting or drawing, but don't give up on the maths who knows you may need it some day.

i do do the maths, jus sometime is doesnt come first lol Ive asked some older people and most say that the only time they really use it is to count money or work out an angle for making a shelf or something, but even then most things are flat packed. But I know maths is important for lots of stuff, and everything can be described in maths. But I said to Dad that everything can also be described in art. And psychologist could also describe everything as psychology. He said just to focus as math can also help perspective, and not even to answer him back by saying that I dont like buildings xx
