Wow, I had to click & expand it to see if it was a photo. Quite amazing & such a strange but interesting subject to choose. The box is less realistic, somehow you made the easy look painted & the complicated look real. Would like you to write a few words about the how & why in the description box ...

Thank you Karen, and everyone else :)) I do my backgrounds very rough to give more focus to the main parts. I was taught that if everything looks really well done, bits can get in the way of each other. So I like to exagerate this. ;) The main focus on the background/box was the colouring. I chose this subject because shiny/reflectivr things are really tricky (for me). Shiny and small are even more difficult. I chose to focus on the box opening and not all of the box as the subject was the pins spilling out and not the box. :) I also have a painting of a screw I will upload soon. And some portraits.

Hi Harriett, you are developing quite a skill for someone so young. This work is both realistic but also abstract in some ways. Your ability to capture the texture of the metal using light and reflection is stunning. You also use bold colours which I enjoy using in my own work so you get a big tick for that. Keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing more pieces as you develop.
