Box of drawing pins by Harriett Alice Richardson
This painting took ages. I spent days on each pin, trying to get the reflections just right. The box itself I made very rough so all the focus is on the pins. The pin outside the box is also super rough do it doesnt attract attention. The focus is on the pins just at the front. My Dads friend writes music, and says if every part is brilliant and memorable, people will forget everything, as all the parts are fighting. I try to do this with my paintings, and make some parts really rough. When my Dad looked at this painting he said he knew where the tune was :)) xx
