Thank you for some wonderful comments. I used a mix of the Loomis and Reilly methods to create the head and just had the eyes closed as I thought it would be easier :-) I can see what you mean about the death masks though. My wife said it looks like a Lord Varys from Game of Thrones.

I wasn't really sure if the gallery is the best place for this as its more a study/exercise. Still using up random paint on my palette. This is a value study of a generic head lit from above front. I thought I'd do a few of these from various angles with different light scenarios to practice the planes of the head.
