Perfect Fiona if I hadn't had to buy carpets and bed and new furniture I would have bought one of yours

Lol....thank you Dennis. You are welcome to choose anything I have, a ‘new home’ gift, from me to you. X

I love your pencil sketches, Fiona. Another one that would look great framed.

I Like the use of the textured paper Fiona, it works well, one I will have to try. great little sketch.

I'm really enjoying your sketches, Fiona, with their lovely period feel. There is a bond between these two characters and I can't help but wonder about their relationship. Could be mother and son or sister and brother but the title tells us it's probably the latter. I love the clothing and think the girl's outfit is top notch, especially the boots. Great boots. It all comes together to make a very convincing whole. Great shading throughout. Excellent drawing. Best Brian

You always strike a different note Fiona. You are never mundane. I like your dancing children.

I like your Gypsy theme, Fiona it tells a story of bygone days. Beautifully drawn.

Very nice Fiona. Such skill.

Lovely sketch, Fiona. (The clothes angle brings back memories. Clothes were expensive when I was a kid, poor old Mum and Dad had four boys to clothe. I was always bought clothes that I'd 'grow into'. At the rate kids grow that meant there was only a brief period when they actually fitted...before I 'grew out' of them.)

Lovely sketch, Fiona, and the texture of the paper adds interest. (What paper have you used?)

This series about Gypsies is coming along so well Fiona. I really like this one.

I thought he looked a bit of a porker, anyway, a smashing drawing Fiona. Another contender for a monoprint perhaps.

Lovely drawing Fiona they look happy :)

Super sketch Fiona.

Yet another emotive sketch Fiona -I really like this. It would certainly look good framed.

Love iy Fiona, was going to say, didn't think they had weight problems them days !!!

Again a fantastic sketch, Fiona.

Superb, Fiona! Just loving these, that paper is giving a stunning feel to them!

Excellent shading Fiona. Really like this.

Thank you Seth, very kind of you to comment. Thanks Charles, the paper is Jackson’s own brand watercolour paper (rough) but not the eco one. I love her boots too Brian, thank you for your comment. Sylvia that’s a lovely thing to say, thank you. I think you, like me, have a sense of the two dancing. Many thanks Ellen! I don’t know about skill David but very kind of you to say so, thank you. Lol...I know what you mean Lewis, I was the youngest of five, I had an eclectic wardrobe. Thanks! Thank you very much Jenny, it’s jacksons own brand watercolour paper the rough one but not the eco one....don’t like that one.

Thank you very much Margaret! That’s the plan Alan, I hope to translate most of these gypsy sketches into monoprints. Thank you! Carole, Pete....thank you both very much. Do you think so Carol, very kind thank you. Linda you are right, no evidence of any of them overeating. In fact the opposite. Gudrun, Mia, Thalia, Richard...thank you all very much indeed.

Hi Fiona, having just come back to the gallery this is the first of this type of work I have seen of yours, I really like it, so different to what I saw and admired previously, nice one, Malcolm Buckley

Malcolm, how lovely to hear from you, I hope you are well. If you haven’t been keeping an eye on the gallery, I think you will find a big difference in some of the things I’ve been getting up to. Thank you very much for taking the time to look and comment. I hope you will start posting again Malcolm.

Carrying on the pencil sketches of the local gypsy families circa 1906. The little boy isn’t over weight, he looks as though he has so many layers of clothes and most of them far too big for him.
