Lovely Fiona and time well spent indoors.

But think of the benefits of learning these disciplines, this is good solid work and with much thought, very well done Fiona, and a superb layout also.

Thank you Dennis very much. I expect you have done lots of this kind of disciplined work Alan...I hope it works for me as it has for you. Many thanks for your continued support and encouragement. X

wow look at those elipse Picasso Phipps (I dare you to show your lady with the pear earings) David Harrison

I can't resist a dare David! I'm so glad you've noticed that my ellipses are improving....even if just a little. Thank you very much for taking an interest, I really appreciate it.

I like the neutral colours Fiona they are very appealing, interesting to see next weeks work when the light changes! Yes roll on good weather, fed up of being indoors.

You've got an excellent tutor Fiona and you obviously make a excellent pupil judging by the results of these exercises you do.

In thumbnail I thought you'd spilled it all Fiona but enlarged I can see a smashing basis and look forward to seeing it finished.

Looking really good, and you,re succeeding in all aspects of the challenge, great tonal work, ellipses are really good, only the bananas or rather where they're placed could be altered compositionally. A real good effort that I look forward to seeing the finished piece.

Thanks Carole! Val, he's a brilliant tutor, I'm very lucky to be in his class.....thank you. Thanks Derek, Andre....I would like to have a say in the subject and set up....it would be different...lol

For an exercise this is reaching great heights - super piece Fiona

I think this is stunning and I admire your bravery! I haven't tried oils for a long time but when I did things got very messy!

Love the black cup. I agree with Alan. I look forward to more.

I love the deep contrasting tones, Fiona!

Michael, Helen, Gudrun, Chandra......thanks very much for your lovely comments.

19" x 16" oil. This is an extension to previous exercises in colour mixing. White neutrals, black neutrals and one local colour...yellow. This is only at the blocking in stage, there are still folds in the cloth, ellipses to tidy up....and because the light will be different next week, shadows and lights to move around. So I could end up with a totally different still life! Looking forward to next month when it will be good bye to still life and hello to going out and about to paint ....hoorah!!
