It's looking good Fiona. Not an oil painter myself, it's interesting to see the WIP.

Yes don't worry Fiona it's working and I look foward to seeing the end result. I have just returned from a workshop - well sort, of in "modern painting" and picked up some tips, but that was all about isolating pictures and picking objects, so there you are success.

Thanks Louise, I'm no oil painter either...yet!Lol. That's very interesting Derek, is this a new way of thinking regarding subject matter. It's funny that since starting this course I've heard a lot about, 'isolation' and 'unexpected' in creating a structure for ideas. Thanks for your comment, it's encouraging.

Keep it going. I am still trying out with watercolours again and of course if it goes wrong, unlike oils, one has to start again, as you know!?

Good start Fiona!

I'm loving what I'm seeing Fiona!

It's looking great to me as is Fiona

It already looks very nice Fiona . I don't know about you but often i find the original sketch has a spontaneity and immediacy that gets lost the more you paint.

Thank you very much Gudrun, Debs, Satu, Dennis and Dennis for taking the time to keep me going! I'm looking forward to finishing it....I want to see how it turns out.

I decided to paint a portion of the room this time rather than placed objects. This stage was only the initial turpsy sketch and blocking in of shapes and base washes. Hope the finished article looks better than this!Lol. 24"x16" canvas board.
