Counting strokes? I'd get lost! I like the palette with red. I do find the other one more convincing as a shore line. Maybe grounding the stones with shadows or something? I'm no expert in watercolours though!

Beautiful seashore Fiona! Lot of light and fantastic subtle colours. I like the first one too!

Another good one Fiona, I think I prefer the first one, has perhaps a greater feeling of depth?

I love the warmth that the red brings to this painting Fiona but, if you don't mind me saying so, I prefer the cliffs in version 1 as they are what drew me to that painting. Looking forward to seeing number 3.
