Fiona honey where have you been! have missed your lovely landscapes and this is a gorgeous one, just taking a quick look at ones I have missed now having just checked the temperature on my computer here and it is 25 degrees, and this is Morecambe for goodness sake! I guess everyone is getting some of this lovely weather today, my poor dog Rosie doesn't know what to do with herself that's the only downside! Yes this is super work Fi and with a lovely apt blue sky! x

Very nice Fiona and an oil to boot! Welcome home!

Great view and a super painting Fiona

Welcome back Fiona! Lovely landscape with oils and so you, colours and all!

ah there you are//// found you,its about time ...we missed your,,, lovely paintings

Ros, Gudrun, Stephen, Michael, Satu and Alan thank you very much for your lovely comments. I've missed you all too! x

Lovely work, Fiona - so pastoral and typically British landscape at this time of year. Wonderful sky as well. Out of the two, I prefer the watercolour for it's lightness of touch, but then I am a watercolour gal through and through, so am hopelessly biased! It is very nice to see your work back on the gallery as so many of the 'old guard' seem to have faded away now that it is nice to see a familiar name pop up.

Many thanks Thea for your kind comment. I feel guilty that I've neglected everyone on the gallery....it's good to be back! Don't kow how long for though.....

It is hard to decide between the two of your paintings. I agree with Thea about the lightness of touch in the watercolour - the trees are so lively. However, I have grown to love oils and am drawn to the texture in this and the lovely colour passages particularly in the foreground field. Thank you for your kind comment on my recent flower painting. I would urge you to throw caution to the wind and have a go with a painting knife. Attack the canvas with no preconceived ideas about the outcome and you might be pleasantly surprised!

Been a while since I've been on the site, too Fiona, and I'm glad I trawled through the old paintings to find this little gem! Love the brushwork!

Another beauty fiona very well executed

My apologies to all if I've missed your postings! I thought I would have a break from the four inch paint bush and try my hand at an oil to start me off again. I sat in the blistering heat yesterday afternoon and painted this from the garden. The field in the distance has just been cut and gathered for hay and had a real summery look to it. It was actually covered with crows and rooks gleaning anything that looked tasty but decided to leave them out!! Thanks for looking.
