This is beautiful Fiona. Trees are lovely and the sky is just right. Great composition.

Despite all your grumbles Fiona, I think this has worked out well, I think the sky and trees are good and the distant town stands out well. If you want some input, I think the brown shape in the foreground looks a bit artificial, in that it is very angular rather than a natural curve (hope you don't mind me commenting).

That sky is just beautiful, Fiona, and to me the colours give that feeling of calm that descends at the end of the day. Lovely reflections and great depth in the scene.

I also think you have done well Fiona.

Watch out Alan - these get better and better Fiona

Lovely reflections and great painting

this painting! beautiful handwriting, and the state of peace and tranquility is well passed!!!

I like the warm but subdued colours, great atmosphere!

Many thanks everyone for your continued support and encouragement. I think Alan deserves all the credit, as I only copied his example. But it is interesting to observe that however easy Alan makes his painting look......they certainly are not. Thanks again folks.

Fiona , you have made my day .and you are so so good .//I am speechless ,take care love you all ..

Think you've done very well with this; you're quite right, too - Alan makes it look easy; he may even think it's easy; but he's been doing it for 65 years ... it does show.... You could choose no better example to follow - I'm sure you learned a vast amount from this exercise.

Really stunning. Fiona! Love the way you conveyed the texture and the light.

So glad you think it's okay Alan, I did enjoy doing it. There are quite a few elements in the painting and thought that it may be a bit more than I could achieve. What's next then Alan?! :)

Thank you Robert, if ever Alan was looking for a willing student.....he's found one! I do admire his art and his attitude. Thanks again.

Many thanks Seok, your input is very much appreciated.

The only quibble I have with this excellent painting is that,to me that the horizon is too high.

Thank you for your comment Fred, I was concentating so much on fitting everything else in I forgot all about where the horizon was placed. It is too much in the middle. I could always crop the foreground off?

Congratulations on your lovely work and top ten paintings this month, wonderful work!

Well, it wasn't as easy as you promised Alan........you make it look easy, yes. It all started to go wrong when the door bell went, as soon as I layed the first wash on! I took note of what you said re: a darker wash for the Paynes grey in the sky, which I did, but perhaps too heavy handed with it. I'm not happy with the tree's or the reflections. Having said all that, I enjoyed doing it. Thanks Alan. Arches 12"x9" Old Holland watercolours.
