Fiona, this is fabulous. You're style is getting more and more confident. I can't fault it,! Bet you're really pleased with this one, I would be. Also, I came across another "bothy" on this site recently. Never heard of it before and then two come along at once! .

Hi Louise...you know I AM quite pleased with it, I don't want to tempt fate. To be honest, I locked myself away in my art room yesterday, with instructions to my better half not to let me out until he could hear uncontrolable sobbing, or whoops and cheers!!! I did FIVE pictures, and all of them are passable...for me. Yourself, and the rest of the site will be a better judge of that of course. I saw the other 'Bothy' very good painting, as where his other posts.

This is a very confident fresh watercolour, i really like it.

This is lovely, Fiona. It is a simple scene but there is a wealth of interest in the way you have used the colours, applied the paint and also let the paint do it's thing. I think you are on the right track.

Very impressed by all your paintings but especially this one. Simple but very effective - your practising is certainly producing excellent results. I'd love to know its size and how long it took to paint.

Hi Terry, thank you for your support. Size is only A4-ish and I hate to admit it only took about 20 minutes to complete.... including the drying between washes. I didn't do a sketch, I just put the paint straight on.

Excellent little painting Fiona! Don't be embarassed about it "only taking about 20 minutes" and not doing an initial sketch - quite often it is the spontaneous, almost sub-conscious, application of paint that produces the best work...
