Excellent painting Emma, the birds are really well painted and the rocks and wave etc add sone so good, all fits into a beautifully painted scene.

A group of these little waders having a preen and freshen up waiting for the tide to go out. Oil on paper, 9x12". I did a similar scene in watercolour last year so thought I’d try it in oils as an experiment. The darker central bird is a youngster. This painting won the amateur wildlife painting category at the Society of Water-mixable Oil Painters 2021 exhibition.
