Wow, Emma, this is a super watercolour. Beautiful!

Beautifully done Emma.

Beautiful painting

Lovely Emma. So well constructed

A excellent painting beautifully done, it’s very delicate and show how fragile these little creatures are.

Wonderful watercolour Emma nice detail

They are beautiful Emma.

I love the wintery palette Emma, it highlights the wee birds and time of year they visit. The male is particularly striking. I haven’t seen any yet in my new garden and would only get the odd visit in my last one.

Beautiful painting.

A lovely painting Emma.

Such a lovely watercolour. To me there is a hint of Chinese brushwork and style.

Lovely Emma and I've learnt something too

Well painted and such a lovely composition Emma.

Thank you everyone! Fiona - they aren’t regulars with us, but the winter ones seem to stay longer - I’m sure you’ll get some eventually - keep your feeders topped up, they love sunflower seeds 😊

The bird feed bill is larger than MY shopping bill Emma! I feed sunflower hearts, nuts, kibble maise, water melon, other fruits and meal worms sometimes……something for everyone, I hope. I’m having lovely surprises of different birds appearing that only visited my last garden. Tree creepers and Nuthatches are regulars, which I thought we would loose for the winter as we moved here in the summer….unless they move around like other birds do and just go south a bit for the winter. Goldcrests are another regular too. I’ve set my telescope up at one of the velux windows upstairs and I can see right into the woods behind us…..great whilst there are no leaves on the trees. I do enjoy seeing your bird paintings especially the sparrow ones, wish I could paint them! Lol.

It’s a long way from "tuppence a bag" isn’t it - I sometimes think they eat better than we do (certainly healthier lol). Never had a nuthatch or a treecreeper here although they’re in the park not far away so maybe one day!

Thanks Malcolm.

Love the layers and the composition in this piece, Emma. Lovely work.

These little warblers are winter migrants from Central Europe - if you see them in summer, those are from Southern Europe! The male has been in the garden for the past two weeks; the female (with the chestnut cap) turned up yesterday, had a quick look, and went away. He doesn’t seem bothered, he’s hanging round with the sparrows. Watercolour on Arches CP.
